Do Bimay Gold products come with a certificate?+
Yes, our diamond pieces come with certification. We don't write these ourselves — they're issued by independent, internationally recognized labs such as GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or IGI (International Gemological Institute).
Why does a certificate matter when buying a diamond?+
A diamond certificate gives you independently verified information about the stone's carat, color, clarity, and other characteristics. We're happy to go over the certificate with you before you buy.
Is 22K or 24K gold better?+
24K is the purest gold, but it's soft and can deform with daily wear. 22K is the most common choice for everyday jewelry because it holds up better over time. We're happy to help you decide which suits your piece in-store.
How is the price determined?+
Price is the day's gram gold rate plus the piece's workmanship cost. For stone-set pieces, the stone's value is calculated separately. We'll walk you through the price clearly before you buy.
Can I get a tax-free / VAT refund as a tourist?+
Tax-free refunds may be available for tourists at participating stores, subject to conditions that can change over time. Ask us in-store about the current rules and paperwork.
Can I take the gold I buy out of the country?+
Jewelry for personal use generally travels without issue — we recommend keeping your invoice. If you're unsure about current customs rules for your amount or destination country, it's worth checking before you fly.
What is a hallmark, and how do I know it's genuine?+
A hallmark is a small legal stamp showing the gold's purity (e.g. 916 for 22K). Before you buy, we're glad to show you the stamp under a loupe.
Can sizing or engraving be done the same day?+
For most rings and wedding bands, resizing and name or date engraving can be completed in-house the same day.
Can I order online?+
No, we don't sell online — that's a deliberate choice. We don't think you should buy something as valuable as gold without holding it and seeing the hallmark yourself. Message us on WhatsApp with questions, and make your final choice with us in-store.
Do you issue an invoice at Bimay Gold?+
Yes. A receipt/invoice is issued for every purchase made in our store.
Can I sell my gold to you?+
Yes. Bring old, unused, or broken gold to our store in Beyoğlu — it's weighed and its purity checked right in front of you.
Do you buy 14K and 22K gold?+
Yes. 14K and 22K gold is valued based on weight, purity, and the current gold rate.
Can I sell quarter or Republic gold coins?+
Yes. Quarter, half, full, and Republic gold coins are all valued in-store.

Do you offer jewelry repair and maintenance?+
For suitable pieces, we offer resizing, engraving, maintenance, stone checks, and repair. Bring your piece in and we'll let you know what's possible.
Can you resize a ring?+
Most gold and diamond ring styles can be resized. Whether it's possible depends on the specific design and stone setting.
Can I get a custom-made piece of jewelry?+
Yes. Come in and talk through custom production options, starting from your own idea or a design you like.
